The MACA – Civic Museum of Contemporary Art Silvio Vigliaturo, inaugurated in
June 2006, is a space dedicated to exhibitions and events connected to the
world of contemporary art. At the moment the MACA occupies thirty halls of the
majestic Sanseverino Palace, combining for a total of 3000 square metres of
exhibition space, distributed on the four storeys of the palace. Eleven halls
are dedicated to the permanent collection of the works by artist Silvio
Vigliaturo – world testimonial of the UNICAL University of Calabria – ,
while the remaining nineteen, the inner courtyard, and the garden host
didactic activities, meetings, workshops, and important temporary exhibitions.
