Admission free public property The museum illustrates the history of medicine from prehistory until today; it houses 10,000 items which chronicles the development of medical technique and theory. On display: manuscripts, surgical instruments, microscopes, maquettes and models, as well as material relating to famous physicians and scientists of the past such as Lazzaro Spallanzani and Louis Pasteur. Visitors are also allowed to the mock-ups of an alchemist's laboratory, of a 17th-century pharmacy, of a herbalist's shop, and to the hall which displays a valuable collection of pharmacy vases from Middle Ages to 19th century. |
