Open: Same as the previous times Description: Since 1919, a series of magnificently decorated and furnished rooms in Pitti palace have housed a collection that belonged to the grand-ducal Crown and to the Florentine museums of valuable furnishings: jewellery, glassware, gems, amber, avory. Pride of place goes to vases embellished with semi-precious inlaid stones belonging to Lorenzo dei Medici and his successors, gilt-silver tableware, crystal caskets, cabinets adorned with amber, tapestries and altar-frontals, the Medici's ivory and the treasure of Medici with cameos and jewels owned by Elettrice Palatina, the treasure of the princes-bishops of Salisburg. |
