MICHELANGELO'S HOME

Location:	FLORENCE Via Ghibellina, 70
Open: 9-14; Sundays and public holidays 9-13. Closed on Tuesdays. Description: Owned by Michelangelo, his grand-nephew, Michelangelo the Young, had it decorated at the beginning of the 17th century. The house contains early works of the artist; two marble reliefs, "The Battle of the Centaurs" and the "Madonna with Child". Also on display are family momentoes, sketches, models, drawings, coeval and illustrative pieces of work by Michelangelo. Buonarroti collections (archaeology, minerology and numismatics).
