UFFIZI ROOM OF DRAWINGS AND PRINTS

Open: 8-14. Closed Sundays and public holidays. A collection of 100,000 drawings and engravings begun by the Medici family in the first half of the 17C, which has since been added to by further acquisitions and donations. Set in the former Medici Theatre by Buontalenti (1585). The most valuable works, which date from the XIV century, carry illustrious names such as: Pisanello, Paolo Uccello, Ghiberti, Raffaello, Michelangelo, Vasari, Tiziano, Luca di Leida, Durer. In addition: Dutch, Bolognese, Flemish, Spanish and Venetian drawings.
