public property Recommended by: GNS Housed on the first floor of the 13th-century Palazzo del Popolo, the museum keeps Renaissance furniture, a number of paintings by Sienese and Florentine artists of the 13th- and 14th century, and a precious collection of 15th- to 18th-century pharmacy jars from the Spedale di Santa Fina. Frescos by Memmo di Filippuccio and Lippo Memmo can be admired in the Podesta's Room and in Dante's Room. In addition, works by Sebastiano Mainardi, Benozzo Gozzoli, Neri di Bicci, Pinturicchio, and others. |
