The special feature of Teramo's territory is that it is characterised on the eastern side by the Abruzzi Apennines and by valleys which slope down to the coast.
It is the ideal place for nature lovers as well as being home to monuments of rare beauty: the cathedral, the San Domenico Church, the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie, the wooden group of the Madonna and Child and the Vescovile and Delfico palaces. Of interest too is an archaeological site of a Roman amphitheatre and theatre deriving from imperial times.
