In 1945, Denmark, Nakskov Shipyards conceived Buena Chica: a huge steel giant, a vigorous icebreaker, with a 4.000 miles cruising range, able to cross several times the Atlantic Ocean during its life, without any stop.
Just before the outbreak of World War II, the expertise and the pride of Nakskov Shipyards fascinated Adolf Hitler, to the point that he wanted this yacht to be built there. Few months before Buena Chica's launch, the World War was over. The ship didn't have the opportunity to reach its shipowner in Germany.
In Denmark was therefore employed by Allied Forces in dangerous minesweeping operations in the North Sea, with a magnetic device, still perfectly working onboard.
