The Neffola is set in a structure which was probably commenced in the pre-roman era and during the following centuries functioned as a rustic villa, small convent, defensive tower, due to its position on the edge of the valley at the crossroads of the antique road to Massa and the path to Marina Grande, and then as a country house. It is built of local tufa and sandstone, and has been restructured respecting its pre-existant form as much a possible. It is surrounded by 3,000 square metres of garden, with age-old olive trees, vineyards, cherry and citrus fruit trees, various essences all create a different atmosphere every season. Apartments with kitchenette, spacious bathrooms, air-conditioning and all the comforts of good accommodation.
The complex lies 500 m from the centre of Sorrento, 1,5 km from the harbour and the Circumvesuviana station, 300 m from the sea. It has a private car park, and in the village next to it "Nube d'Argento", there is a resaurant and swimming pool. "La Neffola" represents the return to Sorrentina hospitality in 19th century style, when distinguished travellers and holiday-makers stayed in private houses, preferably with a garden, to spend a tranquil holiday surrounded by simple people. Everything has been done to maintain the original rural characteristics of this building and to offer its guests a secluded and pleasant holiday. Hence, this activity has a cultural character as well as environmental one and represents the first of its kind in the town.
