In the heart of the mountains, boldly aligned but in a harmonious sequence, directed by a nature full of wisdom, also "glacial" in its origins, there are entrapped the peaceful decendants of Carni, of celtic birth, who are adepts at agriculture and handcrafted products of iron and wood, taught in the Carnorian way, this is the region remembered and appreciated by Plinio the Old, the ethnic cultural firstborn of its future civilisation "furlana". From those long-ago times it never became less in Carnia, together with its dignified example of a strong moral force, a relaxing sense of hospitality (besides every contrary storm) symbolised by the cjabt.
Like the rascard in Val d'Aosta, the cjabt is that type of mountain construction that forms the inhabited partner of the "malgo" (high summer pasture), from where the carnian workers were for centuries feed and fortified by the mythical cjalsons (agnolotti), filled puff-pastry mountain style in which compositive mysteries are added to by the extraordinary richness of carnian herbs, together with smoked ricotta cheese, known as "scute fumade".
