Anagni, the city of the popes, a name which derives from the fact that it was during the middle ages the birthplace and the seat of many popes: Innocent III, Gregory IX, Alexander IV and Boniface VIII, the grerat pope to whom in 1300 we the setting up of the Giubileo or Holy Year.
The Cathedral was built in 1074 and rises on the site of the ancient Acropolis. Also of great interest are the Town Hall, which dates back to 1200, the Palace of Boniface VIII and the picturesque Barnekow House of the 14th century.
