Touristic Districts

Important religious and local festivals, whose origins date back centuries, fill the Mantua calendar. The principal festivals include: Carnevale di Castel Goffredo with the crowning of King Gnocco; Fiera Millenaria di Gonzaga, which is the main agricultural fair in the north of Italy. The madonnari at the church of Madonna delle Grazie in Curtatone where street artist pay homage in their work to the Blessed Virgin in the forecourt of the church; the spaghetti ("bigoi ") festival in Castel d'Ario and the Mantua risotto festival in Villimpenta. These festivals offer an excellent opportunity to promote local agricultural produce and handicrafts.
