To the north side of the Valcuvia is Casalzuigno, Feudatory during the Middle Ages, and property to Visconti Borromeo in the eighteenth century. Formed by the union of the two village of Casale and Zuigno, it is a quiet holiday resort, at the foot of the Mount Nudo and not far from the Lake Maggiore. In its Municipality there is the Della Porta Bozzolo Villa, donated to FAI in 1989 by the heirs of the last owner, the Senatore Bozzolo. It is a typical Lombard villa, built in the 16th century as country residence then transformed into a holiday home. Due to Gian Angelo Della Porta III, is the splendid Italian garden with the scenographic effects of the descending terraces crowded with statues, fountains and balustrades in Viggiù stone.
