The Mediaeval origins of Cantiano are still very ciearly evident, often retouched with the awe inspiring magnificence of the Renaissance. Steep roadways guide you to the hills of the fortresses of Colmatrano and Cantiano from where you can enjoy the magnificent panorama of the countryside and with a littie imagination reconstruct the powerful wall and towers which once joined them. The thirteenth century facade of Casa Corsi is silouetted against the shadowed darkness of Via Fiorucci which opens to the sparkiing brightness of the Burano Torrent with its characteristic dwellings nestling an the banks. You will find many magnificent words of art in the churches of St. Agostino, the Coilegiate Church, St. Ubaldo and St. Nicolo which are dominated by the splendid Church of the "Madonna del Cardeilino" attributed to the school of Perugino. The Town Hall Building is also welt worth a visit.
