The encircling walls welcome the visitors and speak of the Malatesta and of the fighting that the Montefeltro conducted to conquer this important strip of hills belonging to the valley of Foglia. In more recent times the Auditore became famous for its metals that produced terrible thundering and menacing cannons and bells that were peaceful and reassuring when they tolled.
At one time the Auditore was composed of three communities: Auditore, San Giovanni and Castelnuova. These last two fortified hamlets maintain even today their defensive structures, the walls, the ruins of the Castle, the keep and its turrets. In the town stands the slender form of a civic tower of the 1450. On the inside of the parish church you will find a canvas painting representing The Pentecost, the work of Marino Medici, of 1772.
