Carpegna exhibits its attractiveness with discretion it is said for those who possess a quarter of nobility. And so it was like this for the parish church (XI century), with a lodge from the Renaissance period, built onto over time and today restored to a new brilliance; and so also for the other monuments worthy of mention, from which stands out the magical, severe and harmonious Palace of the Princes built in 1675 by the wishes of Cardinal Gaspare Carpegna.
It is still inhabited today by the descendants of that ancient house, that imposed itself upon the other places of nobility from the XI century and became the background for the Counts of Montefeltro and Pietrarubbia: here every Thursday it is possible to visit the invaluable library and the chapel of Griglia where visitors may admire the rich endowment of original furnishings and other authentic antique treasures. The interior of the palace, on August Bank Holiday houses the Exhibition of Handcrafts by craftsmen and women of Montefeltro. Also recommended is a visit to Sasso Simone to discover the ancient traces of the Benedictine Abbey and the city fortress constructed by the Medici in 1560.
