Casteldelci is an hillside village tucked away in the green of the Appennine woods. It is the last Thule of the Marches between Tuscany and Romagna. Casteldelci seems to be lost to the world, it sits on a hill towering over the Senatello stream. The little town is gathered around the old bell tower and Ponte Vecchio, the old bridge. In this territory only the ruins of the old fortress and of the old tower (Torre di Monte) evoke the memory of war deeds. Earlier it was the birthplace of the famous Uguccione della Faggiola, the Veltro Ghibellino (Ghibelline Greyhound) sung by Dante and by popular tradition. Land of woodcutters, foresters and hunters, rich in mushrooms, truffles and chestnuts.
The clear waters of the Senatello also give delight to the fishermen. A natural paradise to contemplate, a dry climate and an ideal site for enviromental tourists in search of unspoilt nature and secret paths leading to impressive panoramic views, to the crags (balze) of the near Mount Fumaiolo and to the first bubbling waterfalls which unite in the river Tiber.
