The impact of Sassocorvaro is curious since you have landed in a square dominated by the Fortress of the Ubaldini, masterpiece of military architecture of the XV century which was created from the fantasy of the military archectect of Siena Francesco di Giorgio Martini whose works are seen throughout Montefeltro. The complex is a monument of grand merit inside of which is an original teaching museum reconstructing the period of the second world war during which between these walls gave refuge and saved millions of Italian art masterpieces. From look-out towers and walkways there is a place for an Art Gallery spread out in many rooms and very curious, a small theatre, that was used in the 1700's.
