From the Roman Pisaurum to present - day Pesaro
The ancient roman "Pisaurum" through history has become a "real" town with its
monuments, its Ducal Palace, the Fortress, the Cathedral with its 13th Century facade, the Gothic portals of some of its churches; a town that has some
of the best Renaissance ceramics and the findings of the nearby necropolis at Novilara in its museums.
On the outskirts, the "Imperiale" rises up, a villa-castle built between the 15th and 16th Centuries and further up the valley, there is the ancient Abbey
of San Tommaso in Foglia, the oldest monument in the Province after the Church of San Decenzio in Pesaro.
