Aramengo is a rural medieval village which belonged to the Radicati and then Monferrato families. The village is set out in a semi-circle in the shelter of a ridge on two sides of a little valley. This is a rural economy, based on arable crops.
In recent years wine-growing has been limited to the sunniest hillside slopes, with high quality wines produced in limited quantities. Legend also has it that the name Aramengo itself actually comes from the word Ramingo, namely to wander or roam, in exile.
