Manta is noted for its famous Castle, a 14th century fortress embellished by Valerano of Saluzzo-Manta with the frescoes in the baronial chamber, depicting the Heroes, the Heroines and the Fountain of Youth, one of the most important late Gothic pictorial evidences of Piedmont. It is regularly visitable.
Also the frescoes decorating the ancient parish church, near to the castle, are outstanding. Another noteworthy monument is the Romanesque church of Santa Maria del Monastero (11th century), one of the oldest religious buildings of Southern Piedmont. It features interesting frescoes dating back to the 15th century, a prolific age for painting in the area of Saluzzo. In the village centre there is the 18th century parish church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, which houses an exquisite baptismal font dating back to 1450. A close network of small roads, connecting isolated settlements, runs through the surrounding hills: the beauty of the landscape is full of surprises, such as the small church of San Leone, of ancient origins, which features a noteworthy Romanesque apse.
