Manta is noted for its famous Castle, a 14th century fortress embellished by Valerano of Saluzzo-Manta with the frescoes in the baronial chamber, depicting the Heroes, the Heroines and the Fountain of Youth, one of the most important late Gothic pictorial evidences of Piedmont. A close network of small roads, connecting isolated settlements, runs through the surrounding hills: the beauty of the landscape is full of surprises, such as the small church of San Leone, of ancient origins, which features a noteworthy Romanesque apse.
