Located in the heart of the Langhe area, Mombarcaro to be defined as the "roof of the Langhe". Given its high elevation at 896 metres above sea level, its land is not suitable for the cultivation of vines but for economic activities linked with agriculture and stock breeding.
Mombarcaro has an alpine and castellated appearance and is worth a visit for its rather particular historic centre and the feudal village where the remains of two town gates have been preserved. There is also the town hall where a stone slab can be seen in honour of Lieutenant Colonel Galliano, a soldier killed at the battle of Adua and the frescos which have recently been transferred to the new cathedral from the old one of San Pietro.
