Verbania, which comprises the communities of Pallanza, Intra, Suna, Fondotoce, Cavandone, Unchio, Possaccio, Trobaso, Zoverallo, Antoliva and Biganzolo was founded in 1939 when the two pre-existing municipalities of Intra and Pallanza were unified.
