Isola Rossa was always a well know qualy because of it's small, protected bay. It's name coming form the purple nature of the rocks. Here the cliffs, unlike the others of the south coast of Sardinia with warm grey and golden shades, takes the purple colour axalted by the contrast between the sea and the reflection of the sun in the course of the day. Born as a fishermen's village, Trinità d'Agultu, has been tranformated in the '60 in a nominated touristic center thanks to its withe sand beaches and suggestive coves. Strong winds as Mistral and Levant envoke an extraordinary phenomena: the sea becomes white and striped by the gusts of wind, but without big waves. Other inlets starting from the south-west coast to the north-east are the Tinnari pool, Porto Leccio, Porto della Cruzitta, Porto Vignola.
All along the coast there three touristic residential villages: Monte Tinnari, Costa Paradiso and Cala Rossa.
