Roccalumera is a town a pretty agricultural centre, laid down on the Ionian coast. Important is the production of citrus fruit, olives and grapes, which are displayed in yearly Festival of Verdello that takes place in September. The name of the small town derives from several mines of alum present in the territory.
The first village was founded by knight Don Giovanni La Rocca in 1608. To see: the Torre di Sollima, in Saracen style and dates back to the XV century, and the Church of Arcangelo Michele. Characteristic in the village are two manifestations said "Palio" and "Minipalio" that take place every year in July and August.
