Term Salemi derives to the Arab "saläm" that translate it means "save land and
of peace". The city it finds on a hill between vineyards and corn-field. The
historical center is characterized from roads and alleys many straits. The
period of maximum importance for Salemi was when Garibaldi name it symbolically
Italy's capital in 14th May 1860 but the joy it was interrupted in the 1968 from

the higher part of the city, the Church of Saint Clement known with the name of
"Sant'Annedda", the Church of Sant'Augustin in Public square Dictatorship,
college of the Jesuits that in order to construct was demolished it a medioevale
quarter; the structure accommodates the museum civic.
