Biodola, 600 m of white sand in a very suggestive and elite gulf, with high grounds on the back (Serrone delle Cime, Capannone and Colle Pecorara) forming a real natural amphitheatre to the sea-beauties and from where we can see the tops of Monte Perone and Monte Capanne (1019 m a.s.l.).
The vegetation is rich: typical mediterranean plants alternate to copses, and the great number of complex wholes that have made of this place one of the most exclusive and popular resorts of the island have not altered the charm of the landscape.
The beach is at about 8 km from Portoferraio (there is the turning on the street getting to Procchio) and is served also by public buses. The Biodola Gulf includes also the wonderful and tiny Scaglieri Beach, made of white, very fine sand with the typical mediterranean warm colours and fantastic smells. Until 60s years, the only way, except a narrow path, to get to both Scaglieri Beach and Biodola Beach was by boat.
