How to reach - You can reach the island of Elba by car where on arrival to Piombino. In only one hour circa, the ferries cover the 10 km distance from the mainland arriving in a chioce of ports; Portoferraio, Porto Azzurro, Rio Marina.
For a more rapid sollution, a Hydrofoil service operates from Piombino to Portoferraio (via Cavo) in only 35 min. of navigation.
By Car - The nearest port is Piombino
From the North: Motorway Genoa-Livorno, exit at Rosignano. Continue on the Livorno–Grosseto highway until Venturina. From there it is just a few minutes drive to Piombino.
From the North-East: Motorway Bologna–Florence–Pisa–Livorno, exit at Rosignano.
Continue on the Livorno–Grosseto highway until Venturina, and then it is just 15 km to the port of Piombino.
From the South: Motorway Rome–Grosseto, continue on the Aurelia Road until the exit Venturina–Isola d'Elba.
By Aeroplane - The Airport is at Marina di Campo. The runway is 1185 m long and paved.
By train - From Campiglia Station, on the railway line Genoa–Roma, there are connections to Piombino Marittima.
