Scansano is rich town totally immersed in the maremma country, it was always considered a healthy place. It was for this reason that the Government Bureaux of Grosseto transferred there in summer.
It offers very beautiful landscapes both on the sea side and the Amiata Mountain flank. In the Parish church there is a very fine fired clay by Andrea della Robbia. In September an interesting folkloristic festival takes place: the Grape festival, in order to valorize wine production (Morellino di Scansano).
