The village of Ronta is placed in the municipal territory of Borgo San Lorenzo that occupies the central part of Mugello valley. The territory was anciently settled. Particularly numerous are the finds of roman period found in the area of Borgo: it is essential to remind the ones of Valcava, happened in the XVII century (they were finds of the road to Faenza) and the ones of the following century in Ronta (where some Etruscan finds were discovered). Ronta, with the great demographic development of Borgo San Lorenzo, became important village in the countryside.
