The hamlet of Lustignano is situated on the extreme southern edge of the Community of Pomarance where the province of Pisa intersects with that of Grosseto and Livorno. From Pomarance you turn into, in the locality of the "Casanova", the highway No. 329 of Bocca di Valle, following the signs for Lustignano. The town has a structure typical of a medieval castle, the 410mts. of the banks of the river Cornia overhang near to the ford towards the classic Maremma. We are 14kms from Monterotondo Marittime, and about 30 from Massa Marittime, and 45 from the area of the Etruscans comprising Populonia and Baratti, Castagneto Carducci and the oasis of Bolgheri. On the periphery with regards to the tourist itinerary of the Colline Metallifere, the view of Lustignano and its surroundings cannot be by chance, but once chosen, there is revealed a richness not easily forseen.
