Inside the eighteenth-century cellar of the San Benedetto farm, Casa Masi is dedicated to our most deeply rooted country traditions; traditions that can be seen in the countless antique instruments that decorate Casa Masi and act as testaments to a forgotten rhythm of life that can be felt in every corner of this wonderful corner of Tuscany.
Spinach pasta twists with cheese sauce, thick country pasta with beef ragout and deep-fried T-bone steak with capers sauce are just some of more famous specialities, as are traditional recipes from Montaione with a multitude of subtle variations depending on the season: home made pasta with duck sauce, cheese dumplings with pear sauce, Guinea hen with porcini mushrooms, rabbit with spicy Swiss chard sauce and lamb with artichokes and rosemary. Or perhaps we can tempt you with our pork liver with wild fennel and leaf-turnips or pork saddle cooked in a wood-burning oven.
These are truly magical dishes, yet the true star of Casa Masi is the local truffle, the Tuber magnatum pico, one of the most precious varieties of white truffle, available from October to December. Ample selection of desserts and carefully selected wines all exclusively Tuscan.
