San Giovanni Battista in Greti in Sant'Ansano (visit upon request) is the old parish church around which the town of Vinci originally grew up and is mentioned for the first time in a diploma of Otto III dated 998. Restoration carried out in various phases has revealed the original Romanesque rectangular ground plan, with a nave and two aisles. Of particular interest are an altarpiece in tempera of the school of Giotto with Saint Ansano and Angels and a canvas by Rutilio Manetti depicting the Apparition of the Angel to Pope Alexander I (1625).
