As the sun rises above the towers of San Gimignano and kisses the Borgo of Fugnano, its golden rays illuminate the ancient road that runs through the hills of Bombereto. The humble foot path that once took pilgrims to Rome passes through these green hills with their olive trees and vines. Bathed in the soft morning light that spreads over the land, the maturing grapes strive to become part of the aura of this magical land.
The Borgo, with its gently curving soil of yellow tufstone, clay, and sand, is united with Bombereto, which lies at the edge of a wood. Its rich ancient history can be tasted in the quality of its fruits. By the year 1254 A.D., a small community lived here, loyal to San Bartolomeo, in honour of whom a small church was built and remains intact up to our days.
The small apartaments, decorated in Tuscan style, surround the pool, which offers rest from the mid-day sun. At night, a romantic candlelight dinner with a refreshing glass of Vernaccia completes the fantasy with the amazing view of the lights of San Gimignano.
