San Nicolò, 1,256 m above sea level, is a small jewel, a town surrounded by meadows and woods. Upstream from the church, on a stately high plateau, rises the "Thurnerhof" with its mysterious figures carved into the wall. While in town, one may visit the "Museo della Valle" (the valley museum) which offers a good overview of the farmer's way of life and of his craftsmanship.
