When visiting Umbria, one absolutely should not miss Perugia's splendid Piazza IV Novembre, with the Priors'Palace, the Cathedral and the medieval fountain Fontana Maggiore designed by the Pisano brothers, and above all, the Etruscan and Roman remains of the city, such as the impressive Arch of Augustus. The centres of Corciano, Torgiano and Deruta are no less fascinating, with their narrow alleywais and noble buildings. The hills and the countryside are primarily cultivated with vineyards, olive trees and grain. Artisan crafts flourish here; wrought iron, lace and majolica ware. The gourmet selection of food is extremely rich, from olive oil to wine, chocolate and traditional pastries.
At The Perugia region, there is tourist accommodation available in hotels, farm holiday, farmhouse, residence self-catering accommodation, b&b, rooms for rent, holiday homes, camp sites and tourist villages.
