Marsciano is placed to the inside of Umbria between Orvieto, Assisi, Perugia and Todi. Famous its coununtryside and its rich hills of medevali villages like Migliano, Sant'Apollinare and Campignano.Its industrial activities are represented from the production of the tile and from furnitures construction even if the handicraft is very important. Migliano, with his ancient castle, is a village in the municipality of the near Marsciano (only 11 km distance). This place was inhabited since Prehistory, as testified by founds like arrows and furnishings preserved in the Umbrian National Archaeological Museum. Here Fersenone torrent dug a deep gorge, from which rise ridges covered with trees. The most important person in Migliano was Antonio from Migliano, son of the Count Ranuccio from Marsciano. Antonio was a brave soldier of fortune and fell in a battle in Pisa in 1484. In Migliano there is a parish church dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta in the XII century. Inside the church you can see, on the high altar, an altar piece representing the Virgin with the infant Jesus and some saints, painted by a pupil of Perugino.
