Montecolognola is a small village, an ancient castle situated in a charming position overlooking Lake Trasimeno. The castle was built in the XIIIth century when the inhabitants rebelled against the Gerosolimitani knights (or Knights Hospitallers, today, the knights of Malta).
The church dedicated to Santa Maria Annunziata preserves paintings from the XIV-XV-XVIth centuries, including a Crucifixion of the Giotto school.
