The principal peculiarity that makes Chamois unique consists in the completely lack of cars in the village. In fact, the only way to reach it is on foot or by a cable-car starting from Buisson. Its altitude, 1800 metres above sea level on a charming green area, make it the highest Aosta Valley village and a visit is really well worth. Nature and welcome: many different excursions start straight off from here.
All around there's an atmosphere of peace and calm due to the beautiful mountains and charming landscape supported by the pleasant temperate weather conditions of the area. Chamois offers during the summer season, plenty of opportunities for walking, surrounded by unforgettable views, or hiking across huge forests and meadows full of flowers. If you prefer you can fish for trout in the Lod lake, enjoying a mild climate protected against wind.
