Saint-Christophe, at an altitude of 619 metres (1700 feet), is 3 Km (2 miles) from Aosta and is located in a large area of hillside, surrounded by orchards and vineyards. Geographically, it is in a very fortunate position, in fact, the town is always sunny in every season of the year. The origins of the Saint- Christophe go back to the Roman age, of which there is plenty of archaeological evidence. The parish church of Saint-Christophe is worthy of note, with its tall, Romanesque bell tower surmounted by a pyramid-shaped spire, opened by mullioned windows with two lights.
Inside, there is a precious triumphal crucifix of the 1400's which is one of the most important works of art of the whole of the heritage of the Valle d'Aosta. The comune (municipality) can boast two castles: the Passerin d’Entrèves and the Duca degli Abruzzi. The first is the private residence of the family of the same name, while the second is the headquarters of the Scuola Militare Alpina (Alpine Military School).
