Champorcher (1427 m) is the main town of a small valley so famous for its
beautiful scenery and waterfalls that it has been named the Valley of the
Waterfalls.
In this area there is the Parco del Monte Avic, the prinicipal natural park of
valdostana, which has a thick "ucinato" pine forest and its fauna represents the
most well-known animals present in the alps of this region. In the summer,
Champorcher enjoys a mild climate with gentle breezes. In the winter, it is a
skiing resort which is easily reached by the Torino-Aosta motorway.
The area is full of cableways: cablecars from 1,400m to 2,000m, chair-lifts and
three ski-lifts with 20km of ski-slopes and artificial snow.
The skiing centre offers reductions for groups and it is possible to hire ski-
boots and skis locally. There are bars and restaurants at the beginning and end
of the cableways.
During the summer guided trips and excursions may be arranged.
