The village of Gressoney-Saint-Jean, nestling at an altitude of 1385 metres, is well-equipped for tourism, with a large number of hotels, shops and sport facilities. Among the first ones to appreciate the healthy air and the beauty of the place there was Queen Margherita, which elected it as the place of her summer abode with the Savoy Castle built there in 1894, now the site of artistic and cultural exhibits and events. Skiing station of great importance, Gressoney is also enchanting in summer. Pleasant, particularly, the walks to the four lakes of the zone. There is also an excellent cross-country skiing on a 25 km loop, one of the longest of all the Aosta Valley.
Gressoney-Saint-Jean is made even more charming by the large choice of accommodation facilities on offer: hotels, farm holiday, farmhouse, residence self-catering accommodation, mountain chalets, b&b, rooms for rent, holiday homes, camp sites and tourist villages.
