The Sant' Orso wood fair, held every year on 30th and 31st January, gathers craftsmen from all over the valley. The art of wood carving is a very old one: it is the result of producing the most usual and necessary objects using the poor material existing at that time; bowls, dishes, spoons, little baskets, ladders, kegs, wine cups (grolla), furniture, clogs, religious objects. The pillow-laces of Cogne, the loom-blankets ("draps") of Valgrisenche, the stone sculptures and the wrought-iron objects are worth mentioning.
