origins and characteristics relationships with traditional hydrology
The spa waters of the Euganean Basin are defined as hyperthermal mineral waters containing sodium chloride, sodium bromide and sodium iodide. The classification takes into account the abundant fixed residue at 180° C (about 6 gr/litre) of the high sodium and chlorine content and the presence of bromine and iodine, a characteristic of mineral water even if only a minimum quantity is present, and the high temperature of the water at the well opening (84,5° C).
Numerous and repeated chemical and physical analyses have confirmed the constant composition of the waters.
The spa waters are mainly used for the maturing, conservation and regeneration of thermal mud, in bathing therapy, in swimming pools of warm spa water, and in inhaling therapy.
