At Ravascletto the skiing is from 1.700mts on the Zoncolan, and is the most well-equipped in Friuli, from which you have a splendid panorama of the nearby austrian and slovakian mountains. There are no queues, ski passes at reasonable prices, these piste are ideal for those that intend that skiing is a sport for relaxing, and also for the more expert there are stretches particularly exhilirating and there is in function also a piste slalom with automatic chronometer. The snow is alway guaranteed by a artifical snow making system. In all we are talking about a place for skiing that is ideal for all the family, well-equipped for all if you are children just learning to ski, and for the parents. For those who love off piste there are splendid routes for alpine skiing (also with experts and masters of ski), otherwise for beginners there is a circuit school and two rings from 5,000mts to 7,500 mts. Ravascletto is the principle centre of Valcalda, one of the most beautiful of the Carnian valleys. An old village of typical stone houses, that can be found at 950 mts and is well-known for its high quality refreshments. Trattoria and restaurants, infact, following the natural vocation of this place (where in the summer the women of the village organise an extraordinary gastronomical feast of Carnia, the "Fiesta tas corts"), they have cultivated the art of cooking in a particular way, achieving remarkable results. The dishes presented are - simple and natural, but very tasty - from the carnian tradition, interpreted with taste and fantasy. This desire for tradition, at Ravascletto, you won't only find in the kitchen, but also in a series of beautiful and unusual exhibitions that - under the title of "Savrs di una volta" - are organised throughout the year. In the winter the most curious is "La storia dello sci" (history of ski), a show with live demonstrations of techniques, materials, clothing and ways all dedicated to skiing, from its beginnings until today.
