Located in the medieval Castello Guidi (11-12 cen.), the Leonardo Museum dominates the small city of Vinci. It was inaugurated April 15, 1953, at the conclusion of the celebration of the fifth centennial of Leonardo's birth, with the first exhibit dedicated to models of machines inspired by the designs of Leonardo. The Museum continually enriched its collection with new materials and models. Today, thirty years after its opening, the Leonardo Museum of Vinci displays anew its splendid collection. |
